If you are starting from the Invercargill City Centre, head south on Dee Street, which will lead you directly towards Wachner Place. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Esk Street. Turn left onto Esk Street and keep walking until you reach the end of the block. From there, turn right onto the next street, which is Yarrow Street. Continue walking on Yarrow Street until you reach the next intersection with Layard Street. Turn left onto Layard Street, and continue until you reach Wachner Place, which will be on your right. It should take around 15-20 minutes to walk this route.

From Invercargill City Centre, you can take Bus Route 1 or 2 which frequently runs through the city. Board the bus at the bus stop near the Invercargill Central Mall. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the nearest stop to Wachner Place, which is close to the intersection of Layard Street and Yarrow Street. Once you get off, walk a short distance down Layard Street to reach Wachner Place. The total journey may take approximately 10-15 minutes depending on bus schedules.
