From the center of Queenstown, head southwest on Shotover Street toward Camp Street. Continue straight onto Gorge Road. After about 10 minutes of walking, you will reach the junction with the Frankton Road. Cross over to the other side, and follow the path leading to the Queenstown Gardens. Walk through the gardens until you reach the end, where you will find a path leading to the lakefront.

Continue along the lakefront path. You will have beautiful views of Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains. Follow the path until you reach the intersection with the Kelvin Heights Road. Turn right and continue onto Kelvin Heights Road which will lead you further out of the main town area.

After about 20-25 minutes along Kelvin Heights Road, you will come to a sign for the Glowworm Gully track. The entrance will be on your left. Follow the signs leading you into the track. This will involve a short uphill walk.
