Getting There

  • Walking

    Starting from the Queenstown Gardens, exit the gardens and head towards the waterfront along the path. Continue walking along the shoreline of Lake Wakatipu, enjoying the picturesque views. After about 15 minutes, you will reach Beach Street. Turn left onto Beach Street and walk for another 5 minutes. The New Zealand Moa Statue will be on your right, just before you reach the intersection with Marine Parade.

    From the Queenstown bus station, take the local bus heading towards Frankton. Get off at the Beach Street stop. Once you disembark, walk straight down Beach Street, heading towards the lake. After a short walk of about 5 minutes, you will see the New Zealand Moa Statue on your left, just a bit before Marine Parade.

    If you are near the Queenstown Gardens, you can rent a bike from one of the local hire shops. Once you have your bike, head south towards the waterfront.
