The drive takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Note that parking fees may apply at Kaiteriteri Beach, typically around NZD 5-10 for a day.
Public Transport
For those using public transportation, you can catch a bus from Nelson to Motueka. The Nelson to Motueka bus service operates several times a day and the journey takes about 1 hour. Once in Motueka, transfer to a local shuttle service that runs to Kaiteriteri. The shuttle ride from Motueka to Kaiteriteri takes about 15 minutes. Be sure to check the bus and shuttle schedules in advance, as they may vary by day. The cost for the bus from Nelson to Motueka is approximately NZD 20, and the shuttle from Motueka to Kaiteriteri is typically around NZD 10.
