Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the Tasman town center. Head south on State Highway 60 towards Takaka. After approximately 20km, turn right onto Rameka Creek Road. Continue on this road, which will turn into a gravel road. Follow the signs to Cleopatra's Pool, which is around a 10-minute drive from the turn-off. There is a parking area near the trailhead. Note that the road may be rough, so a vehicle with good clearance is recommended.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Tasman towards Takaka. Check the local bus schedule for availability. Disembark at the 'Rameka Creek Road' stop. From there, you will need to walk roughly 2.5 km along Rameka Creek Road to reach the trailhead for Cleopatra's Pool. Be prepared for a moderate walk along a gravel road. Ensure to check the bus schedules for return trips as they may be limited.
Hiking
Once you arrive at the parking area or at the trailhead by foot, you will need to hike approximately 1 km to reach Cleopatra's Pool. The trail is well-marked but can be steep and slippery in places, so sturdy footwear is recommended. Follow the trail signs, and enjoy the scenic views along the way. The hike should take about 20-30 minutes.
