Getting There

Walking
From the center of Taupo, head towards the Taupo i-SITE Visitor Centre located at 30 Tongariro Street. Once there, ask for directions to the local bus stop at the i-SITE. Take the bus route that heads towards Waipahihi. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Get off at the Waipahihi Bay stop. From there, follow the signs toward Hot Water Beach, which is about a 10-minute walk along the lakeside path. The beach is known for its geothermal hot springs, so make sure to bring your swimsuit and a spade to dig your own hot pool!
