Walking
From the center of Taupo, head towards the Taupo i-SITE Visitor Centre located at 30 Tongariro Street. Once there, ask for directions to the local bus stop at the i-SITE. Take the bus route that heads towards Waipahihi. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Get off at the Waipahihi Bay stop. From there, follow the signs toward Hot Water Beach, which is about a 10-minute walk along the lakeside path. The beach is known for its geothermal hot springs, so make sure to bring your swimsuit and a spade to dig your own hot pool!

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Taupo. Start at the Taupo town center and head towards the Great Lake Trail. Follow the trail that leads south along the lakefront. After about 30 minutes of cycling, you will reach Waipahihi Bay. Here, you can take the path leading to Hot Water Beach. The total cycling time is roughly 40-45 minutes, and the views along the lake are stunning.

Public Transport
Use the local bus service from Taupo to Waipahihi. The bus stop is located near the Taupo i-SITE. Board a bus heading towards Waipahihi, and confirm with the driver that they will stop at Hot Water Beach. The bus ride will take around 20 minutes. Once you arrive, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the beach.
