Once you arrive in Matamata, the main street is within walking distance, and you will see signs directing you to various attractions.

Train and Bus

Alternatively, you can take a train from Tauranga to the nearest train station at Te Puke. From Tauranga, walk to the Tauranga Train Station on Cliff Road. Board a train to Te Puke (check the train schedule as they may not run frequently). Once you arrive at Te Puke, transfer to a local bus heading to Matamata. The bus stop is located just outside the train station. Ensure to confirm the bus timings to avoid long waits. The total travel time can take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on connections.

Bike
