Bus
From central Wanaka, head to the Wanaka bus stop located on Ardmore Street, near the lakefront. Board the bus heading towards Queenstown or Twizel. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Lindis Pass. The journey typically takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at Lindis Pass, follow the signs towards the Lindis Pass Viewpoint.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, rent a bicycle from a local shop in Wanaka. Follow the Mt. Aspiring Road (State Highway 8) heading east. It's approximately a 40 km ride to Lindis Pass. The route is scenic, but be prepared for some uphill climbs. Make sure to stay on the left side of the road and wear a helmet for safety.
Walking
Walking to Lindis Pass from Wanaka is not practical due to the distance (approximately 40 km). However, you can hike around the area of Wanaka, enjoying the local scenery, before taking a bus to Lindis Pass.
