Public Transport - Bus
From the Wellington Central Bus Station, take bus number 2 (Wellington to Eastbourne). The bus departs frequently, so check the schedule posted at the station. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach Eastbourne. Once you arrive in Eastbourne, exit the bus and walk towards the waterfront. Follow the coastal path heading north along the beach. After about 15-20 minutes of walking, you will reach Monkey Bay.

Walking
If you are starting from the Wellington Waterfront, make your way to the Oriental Bay area. Head towards the end of Oriental Parade, where you will find the scenic coastal walkway. Follow this path north for several kilometers. The walk will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, and you will enjoy stunning views of the harbor along the way. Continue walking until you reach the Eastbourne area, and then follow the signs to Monkey Bay.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Wellington. Start your ride from the Wellington Waterfront, heading towards the Oriental Bay path. Continue to follow the coastline north. The ride to Monkey Bay will take approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Stay on the main cycle path, and watch for signs leading to Eastbourne. Once you reach Eastbourne, look for directions to Monkey Bay along the waterfront.
