You will pass through towns such as Ross and Whataroa. After approximately 2 hours of driving, you will reach the town of Dunedin. In Dunedin, follow the signs for State Highway 1 towards Oamaru. Stay on State Highway 1 until you reach the turnoff for Karitane Beach, which is about 30 minutes north of Dunedin. Once you take the turnoff, follow the signs to Karitane Beach. Be aware that parking may be limited near the beach, so arrive early to secure a spot.
