Nicaragua Private Day Trip from Tamarindo Costa Rica

Lovely full day experience!

Great day although lots of driving we loved this day trip. The stops were quick but thought out. Food at both stops was incredible. Everyone was friendly. Boat trip was nice (accommodating me for motion sickness and taking a different route) Granada stop was quick but lovely. Drivers and guide (Eddie) were all great! Very informative. Only thing I would suggest is to have a better description of crossing the border. It was a bit tricky to navigate with limited Spanish knowledge and very little signage. Perhaps a little drawn map or description/diagram would be helpful or photos of the buildings. Otherwise a wonderful trip! Highly recommend if you only have a day to spend. (A note that the driver drops you at the Costa Rica border and you walk through to the other side where the guide is waiting for you to take you through Nicaragua side. And visa versa on the way back (although a bit more confusing as there is no real signage as to where to re-enter Costa Rica) )

Perfect day out

We went to see the volcano with this tour company again and wow i was not sure what we was going to see but it blow our expectations. We had another tour guild sorry i forgot his name but he really made that trip. He was giving us so much information about this place. There is a museum at the bottom what is great and a little restaurant. The view was breathtaking and not a lot of walking what was great when you have kids. If you do this tour add on the boat ride in Granada it’s close and you go to an island full of monkeys.

We had an awesome day with our guide Eric and our driver (Sotero?) It started with us being picked up at our hotel in Liberia with our driver who then took us to the border crossing. He made sure we had Eric's phone number and that we knew how to get through the border. We were able to text Eric once we crossed into Nicaragua where he met us and our adventure began. We started with a delicious breakfast at Lake Nicaragua and proceeded to the sights: lake views with small town shopping, volcano park, lunch and tour in Granada (including chocolate factory tour), and a boat ride to the islands. Eric is an amazing guide who answered all our questions and gave us so much info about the country, culture, nature, etc. It is definitely a long day and a lot of driving, but so worth it. We were well taken care of and were treated to the beauty of the country. We will go again next time we are in the area!
