Getting There

    From the center of Nueva Segovia Highlands, head southeast on the main highway towards the town of Somoto. Continue driving for approximately 35 kilometers (about 40 minutes). As you approach the town of Somoto, look for signs indicating Cañón de Somoto. Turn left onto the road leading to Valle El Guayabo, where the canyon is located. Follow this road for about 10 kilometers until you reach the entrance of Cañón de Somoto. Parking is available near the entrance, and there may be a small fee for parking.

    To reach Cañón de Somoto by public transportation, start at the central bus station in Nueva Segovia Highlands. Look for a bus heading to Somoto; these buses are frequent and should cost around 25-30 NIO (Nicaraguan Cordoba). The journey will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive in Somoto, you can either take a local taxi to Valle El Guayabo (costing around 100 NIO) or ask for directions to the entrance of Cañón de Somoto.
