The last stretch may require a vehicle with good clearance due to uneven terrain.
Public Transportation

To reach El Descanso using public transportation, take a local bus from Moyogalpa heading to Altagracia. Buses leave frequently and the fare is approximately 30 NIO (Nicaraguan Cordoba). Inform the driver that you want to get off near El Descanso. The bus will take you directly to Altagracia, which is about a 30-minute ride. After getting off, walk back approximately 4 km along the main road until you see signs for 'El Descanso.' Follow the signs to the left onto the dirt road leading to El Descanso, which is about 1 km further.
