Bus
From your accommodation in Ometepe, head to the nearest bus stop. Buses frequently run between the main towns, such as Moyogalpa and Altagracia. Take a bus towards San José del Sur. The fare is usually affordable, around 20-30 Cordobas. Inform the driver you are heading to Playa Maderas, and they will drop you off at the junction where you need to get off.

Walking
After getting off the bus at the junction, you will need to walk the remaining distance to Playa Maderas. Follow the dirt road leading towards the beach. The road will take you through serene landscapes, and it is approximately a 30-minute walk. Keep following the signs towards Playa Maderas. You will eventually arrive at the beach area.

Bicycle
If you prefer, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Moyogalpa or Altagracia. Once you have your bike, ride towards the southern part of the island. Follow the same route as the bus, making sure to take the turn towards Playa Maderas when you see the signs. The bike ride will take about 20 minutes, and you will enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.
