Getting There

• Bicycle

  From the center of Calabar, head south towards the Calabar South area. Follow the roads leading towards the Ugep junction. Once you reach the junction, take the right turn onto the Oban Road. Continue cycling along Oban Road for about 20 kilometers. Look for signs that indicate Aningeje Town. As you approach Aningeje, keep an eye out for the Kwa Falls, which will be located on your left side. Ensure to wear a helmet and follow local traffic regulations.

• Motorbike Taxi (Okada)

  From any central location in Calabar, find a motorbike taxi (Okada) and tell the rider you want to go to Kwa Falls via Aningeje Town. They will take you along the main roads to the Ugep junction, where you will turn onto Oban Road. The journey will take about 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. Keep your eyes open for signs towards Aningeje Town, and inform the rider to drop you off near the falls. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your ride.

• Walking

  Walking to Kwa Falls from central Calabar is quite a long trek, but if you're up for it, start by heading south towards the Calabar South area. Continue walking towards the Ugep junction, which is approximately 20 kilometers away. From the junction, walk along Oban Road, keeping an eye out for directional signs leading to Aningeje Town. This will be a challenging journey, so ensure you wear comfortable shoes and carry plenty of water. It may take several hours to reach your destination, so start early in the day.

• Public Transport (Bus or Shared Taxi)

  To reach Kwa Falls using public transport, head to the nearest bus terminal in Calabar. Look for buses or shared taxis heading towards Ugep or Aningeje Town. Inform the driver that your destination is Kwa Falls. The ride will take around 30-45 minutes. Once you arrive in Aningeje, you may need to ask locals for directions to the falls, as they are located a short distance from the main road. Ensure to check the bus schedules for return trips.
