Walking
If you are in the Calabar city center, head towards the Calabar River. Start from the Calabar Marina, which is a popular starting point. From there, walk along the Marina Road, keeping the river to your right. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the entrance to Marina Beach. The beach is located along Marina Road in Duke Town, Calabar. Look out for signs that direct you to the beach area as you approach.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from any local rental shop in Calabar city center. Begin your journey by cycling along the Calabar Marina. Follow the same route as pedestrians by cycling along Marina Road. Maintain a safe speed and enjoy the view. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will reach the entrance to Marina Beach. Ensure your bike is securely parked before exploring the beach.
Motorcycle Taxi (Okada)
To reach Marina Beach quickly, consider taking a motorcycle taxi, known locally as 'Okada.' Hail an Okada from your location and inform the rider that you want to go to Marina Beach on Marina Road in Duke Town. The driver will navigate through the streets, and the ride should take around 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. Ensure to have the exact address handy in case the rider is unfamiliar with the location.
Public Transport (Bus/Minibus)
Another option is to use public transport. Look for buses or minibuses heading towards Duke Town. You can catch one from the central bus station in Calabar. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at Marina Road. After approximately 20-30 minutes of travel, disembark when you reach Marina Road. Walk a short distance to the beach entrance, which is clearly marked.
