Makoko Floating Slum An Authentic Experience with Son of Chief

Truly amazing

I was super nervous about being in this tour being an American woman who is traveling alone. Against my better judgement I went….and it was the best decision ever!! Respect was amazing! He picked me up at my hotel and stayed with me the entire time. And when we arrived….I have no words. It was one of the most humbling and profound experiences. You get to meet the kids at the school the Repect’s brother runs. And they will LOVE you. They are the happiest kids I’ve ever met. The tour through the slums in of course eye opening but it also shows hope, resilience, strength, and beauty. I never felt unsafe. I was welcomed and truly had one of the most impactful experiences of my life. The work they are doing in this community is unreal. Take the tour! Support their mission! I took some art supplies and candy for the kids. They were so appreciative. It’s a must do if you ever find yourself in Lagos….

Explore Makoko With Confidence

Fantastic

I had the opportunity to visit the Makoko Floating Slum with the guidance of Confidence and Victor. Through the tour, I was able to experience the unique culture of Makoko firsthand and gain a deeper understanding of its history and way of life. If you're interested in visiting Makoko, I highly recommend checking out U Come Afrik. It was an eye-opening and memorable experience.

Highly recommend!

Had a fantastic trip with Confidence. He is well organised, knowledgable about the area, and knows how to make the trip run smoothly. The borders and visas were easy with him which made the trip stress free. I would highly recommend this company. A great way to see West Africa!
