Car
If you are driving from Lagos, take the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway towards Ibadan. After Ibadan, follow the road signs to the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway and then continue towards the expressway leading to Akwa Ibom. Upon entering Akwa Ibom, follow the Nsit Atai Road. Once you reach Uyo, follow the signs to Ibeno via the Uyo-Ibeno Road. The total journey is approximately 8-10 hours, depending on traffic conditions. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel as there are limited petrol stations along the way.
Public Transportation (Bus)
From major cities in the South West like Lagos or Ibadan, you can take a long-distance bus to Uyo. Buses from Lagos to Uyo are operated by various companies such as God is Good Motors and Luxury Coach. The bus fare ranges from 6,000 to 10,000 NGN and the journey takes about 10-12 hours. After arriving in Uyo, you can take a taxi or a local bus to Ibeno Beach, which is approximately a 30-minute drive from the city center.
Taxi or Ride-hailing Service
Once you are in Uyo, you can hire a taxi or use a ride-hailing service like Uber or Bolt. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting the journey as taxis in the area may not use meters. The ride to Ibeno Beach should cost around 2,000 to 3,500 NGN, depending on your starting point in Uyo and the traffic conditions.
