Getting There

• Public Bus

  From Downtown Asheville, walk to the nearest bus stop on Biltmore Avenue. Take the ART (Asheville Redefines Transit) bus, Route 1 or Route 2, heading towards the Biltmore Estate. The fare is $1 per ride. After approximately 25 minutes, get off at the stop for the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center. From there, you will have a short walk of about 0.5 miles to reach the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area at 195 Hemphill Knob Rd.

• Bicycle Rental

  You can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Downtown Asheville. Once you have your bike, head south on Biltmore Avenue until you reach the Blue Ridge Parkway. Follow the Parkway, which will take you towards the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area. The ride is approximately 3 miles and should take around 15 to 20 minutes. Be mindful of traffic and always wear a helmet.

• Walking

  For those who prefer to walk, you can start from the center of Downtown Asheville. Head south on Biltmore Avenue, then take a right onto Macon Avenue. Continue until you reach the Blue Ridge Parkway. The walk is around 2.5 miles and will take approximately 50 minutes. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.

  If you prefer a direct route without the hassle of public transport, consider using a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft. Simply request a ride from your location in Downtown Asheville to 195 Hemphill Knob Rd, Asheville, NC 28803.
