Walking
From downtown Boone, head north on King Street. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Highway 321. Cross the highway carefully and continue straight onto Blowing Rock Road (NC-321). Follow this road for approximately 5 miles until you reach the entrance of Flat Top Road. Turn right onto Flat Top Road and follow it for about 1 mile until you reach the Flat Top Lookout Tower. The tower will be on your left.
Public Transit
From Boone, take the AppalCART bus route that heads towards Blowing Rock. Make sure to check the schedule; buses typically run every hour. Get off at the stop closest to Blowing Rock, then transfer to the Blowing Rock shuttle service towards the tourist attractions. Ask the driver to let you know when to get off for Flat Top Lookout Tower. Once you get off, walk about 0.5 miles along Flat Top Road to reach the tower.
