    From the Appalachian State University campus, take the AppalCart bus (Route 2) towards Blowing Rock. Get off at the stop at Horn in the West. From there, walk about 0.2 miles down Horn in the West Drive, and the Hickory Ridge History Museum will be on your right at 591 Horn in the W Dr.

    If you are renting a bike, start from the Boone Greenway Trail. Follow the trail until you reach the intersection with King Street.
