Walking
From downtown Boone, start at the corner of King Street and Howard Street. Head southwest on King Street until you reach the intersection with 321 South. Cross the street and continue walking along the sidewalk on the right side of 321 South. Follow US-321 South for about 2.5 miles. You will pass several shops and restaurants along the way. When you reach the traffic light at the intersection of 321 South and Blue Ridge Parkway, turn right onto Blue Ridge Parkway. Continue for about 3 miles until you see the Moses Cone Overlook sign on your left. The overlook has a parking area where you can enjoy the view.

Biking
If you prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the local shops in Boone. Start at the Watauga County Courthouse on King Street. Ride south on King Street and then merge onto US-321 South. Continue on US-321 South for about 2.5 miles. Once you reach the traffic light at Blue Ridge Parkway, turn right. Bike along Blue Ridge Parkway for about 3 miles until you reach Moses Cone Overlook, which will be on your left. Be sure to use bike lanes where available and always wear a helmet.

Take the AppalCart public bus from Boone to Blowing Rock. Board the bus at the AppalCart stop on King Street, and ensure you take the route heading towards Blowing Rock. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Blowing Rock stop, walk back towards the Blue Ridge Parkway. Turn right onto Blue Ridge Parkway and walk about 1.5 miles until you reach the Moses Cone Overlook on your left. Make sure to check the AppalCart schedule for the bus times.
