From the center of Chapel Hill, walk to the nearest bus stop on Franklin Street. Take the GoTriangle bus route 100 towards Raleigh. The bus will take you directly to the Raleigh Depot. Once you arrive at the Raleigh Depot, exit the bus and walk east on Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. After about a 10-minute walk, turn left onto Fayetteville Street, and you will find the City of Raleigh Museum at 220 Fayetteville St on your right.

If you are comfortable riding a bike, you can rent one from a local bike-sharing service in Chapel Hill. Start by heading east on Franklin Street, then take a right onto Columbia Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with US-54. Turn left onto US-54 and follow the bike lane towards Raleigh. Once you reach Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, turn right and continue to Fayetteville Street. The City of Raleigh Museum will be on your right at 220 Fayetteville St.

For a scenic walk from central Chapel Hill, head east on Franklin Street towards Columbia Street. Continue straight onto East Rosemary Street until you reach the intersection with US-54. Cross the street and follow the pedestrian path along Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. After about a 1.5-mile walk, take a left onto Fayetteville Street. The City of Raleigh Museum will be located at 220 Fayetteville St, just a short walk ahead on your right.
