Car
If you're driving from any location in Crystal Coast, start by heading to NC-24 E. Depending on your starting point, you may need to navigate local roads to reach NC-24 E. Once on NC-24 E, continue for approximately 11 miles until you reach Swansboro. Take the exit toward Swansboro and merge onto NC-58 S. Follow NC-58 S for about 3 miles. Turn left onto State Rd 1511. After about half a mile, you will see the entrance to Hammocks Beach State Park on your left. Note that there is a small entrance fee of around $5-6 per person, with children under 4 free.
Public Transportation + Taxi/Rideshare
If you are using public transportation, take a bus to Swansboro, which is the nearest town to Hammocks Beach State Park. Check local bus schedules for routes that connect to Swansboro. Once you arrive in Swansboro, you can take a taxi or use a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft to reach Hammocks Beach State Park. The taxi ride from Swansboro to the park will take about 10 minutes and may cost around $10-$15.
Bicycle
For those who prefer to bike, you can take local roads from anywhere in Crystal Coast to NC-24 E. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic laws. The ride to Hammocks Beach State Park from Crystal Coast is approximately 14 miles and should take about 1-2 hours depending on your speed. Once you arrive, there is no additional fee for parking your bike.
