Car
If you are driving from the Atlantic Beach area, take Highway 58 heading east until you reach the intersection with Highway 70. Merge onto Highway 70 East toward Morehead City. Continue on Highway 70 for approximately 15 miles, then take the exit for Highway 101 toward Harkers Island. Follow Highway 101 for about 12 miles, and then turn left onto Island Road (NC-1333). The Harkers Island Visitor Center will be on your right at 1800 Island Rd, Harkers Island, NC 28531. There is no entrance fee for the visitor center.

For those using public transportation, you can take a Greyhound or local bus service to Morehead City. Once in Morehead City, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to take you to Harkers Island. The taxi ride will take approximately 30 minutes and may cost around $30 to $40 one way.
