Car
If you're driving from the Inner Banks region, take US-64 E towards Nags Head. From Nags Head, continue on US-158 E until you reach the town of Hatteras. Follow NC-12 S, which is known as the Outer Banks Scenic Byway. You'll eventually reach the ferry terminal in Hatteras. Board the ferry to Ocracoke Island. The ferry ride is approximately 40 minutes and costs around $15 for a standard vehicle. Once you arrive on Ocracoke Island, follow NC-12 N and then turn onto Lighthouse Rd. The Ocracoke Lighthouse will be on your right at 360 Lighthouse Rd, Ocracoke, NC 27960.

For those relying on public transportation, you can use the Dare County Public Transit system to get to Hatteras. From there, you will need to take a taxi or a rideshare service to the Hatteras ferry terminal. Once at the terminal, board the ferry to Ocracoke Island. After arriving on Ocracoke Island, you can either walk or use a local taxi service to reach the lighthouse at 360 Lighthouse Rd, Ocracoke, NC 27960.
