If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to the nearest major highway in the Mountain Region. From cities like Asheville or Boone, take Interstate 40 East towards Winston-Salem. Merge onto US-52 North towards Mount Airy. In about an hour, take exit 123 for NC-135 toward Mayodan. Follow NC-135 for approximately 10 minutes, then turn left onto Old Mayo Park Rd. Continue straight for about 1 mile and you will see the entrance to Mayo River State Park on your right, located at 500 Old Mayo Park Rd, Mayodan, NC 27027.

Public Transportation

For those using public transportation, check for bus services that operate in the Mountain Region. You may need to take a Greyhound or a local bus to Greensboro. From Greensboro, transfer to a regional bus service that goes to Mayodan.
