Getting There

  If you are traveling by car, start by heading south on US-1 S from your location in Sandhills. Continue on US-1 S for approximately 20 miles until you reach the junction with NC-211 S. Take the exit for NC-211 S and follow it for about 10 miles until you reach the intersection with NC-72. Turn right onto NC-72 W and continue for about 15 miles. Once you reach Orrum, look for Princess Ann Rd on your left. Turn left onto Princess Ann Rd, and after about 2 miles, you will arrive at Lumber River State Park located at 2819 Princess Ann Rd, Orrum, NC 28369.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, your best option is to take a Greyhound bus or a local transit service to Lumberton, NC, which is the nearest city. Once in Lumberton, you can use a taxi or rideshare service to reach Lumber River State Park. The taxi ride will take about 30 minutes and will cost approximately $30 to $40, depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare with the driver beforehand. If you plan to use rideshare services, ensure you have the app downloaded and the appropriate payment method set up.
