Getting There

• Car

  From any point in Uwharrie National Forest, head south on NC-49 S. Continue for approximately 20 miles and merge onto I-85 N toward Greensboro. Take exit 51 for US-70 E. Continue on US-70 E for about 15 miles. The Clemmons Educational State Forest will be on your left at 2256 Old U.S. Hwy 70, Clayton, NC 27520.

  Start by taking a local bus or shuttle service from your location in Uwharrie National Forest to the nearest major city, such as Asheboro. From Asheboro, you may need to take a series of buses or rideshares heading towards Clayton, NC.
