Start at the nearest bus stop in downtown Winston-Salem. Take the 'Route 80' bus towards the 'Hanes Mall'. Stay on the bus for approximately 15 minutes. Get off at the stop at 'South Broad Street and 14th Street'. From there, walk south on South Broad Street for about 0.5 miles until you reach Gateway Nature Preserve at 1490 S Broad St. The entrance will be clearly marked.

If you are already in the vicinity of the Winston-Salem State University campus, head south on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Continue walking until you reach South Broad Street. Turn left and walk down South Broad Street for approximately 1.2 miles. Gateway Nature Preserve will be on your right at 1490 S Broad St. Look for the entrance signs to guide you.

Rent a bike from a nearby rental service in downtown Winston-Salem. Head south on Cherry Street, then take a left onto 4th Street. Continue straight until you reach South Broad Street. Turn right onto South Broad Street and bike for about 1.5 miles. Gateway Nature Preserve will be located on your left at 1490 S Broad St. There are bike racks available near the entrance.
