As you approach Belfield, look for signs directing you to Painted Canyon, which is located within the Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Turn left onto Painted Canyon Road and follow it for about 3 miles until you reach the parking area for Painted Canyon. Note that there is an entrance fee for the National Park, which is typically around $10 per vehicle.

    While public transportation options are limited in this remote area, you can take a bus service from Dickinson, ND to Belfield. Once you arrive in Belfield, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to Painted Canyon, which is about 8 miles away.
