Getting There

Walking
Start at the center of Cavalier, near the intersection of Main Street and 3rd Avenue. Head north on Main Street for about 0.5 miles until you reach the junction with 5th Avenue. Continue walking straight as Main Street becomes 1st Avenue. Follow 1st Avenue northeast for about 1 mile until you reach the Cavalier Air Force Station area. The Gunlogson State Nature Preserve is located just past the station. Look for the entrance which will be marked, and follow the walking trails into the preserve.

Biking
If you have a bicycle, start at the Cavalier City Park. Head north on 3rd Street towards Main Street and turn left onto Main Street. Continue for about 0.5 miles and then turn right onto 5th Avenue. Stay on this road as it turns into 1st Avenue. Continue for another mile towards the Cavalier Air Force Station. The Gunlogson State Nature Preserve is just past the station entrance on your right. You can park your bike at the entrance before entering the preserve.
