History of Cavalier

Indigenous Borderlands and the Pembina Region

Long before Cavalier was established, the Pembina region was home to Indigenous peoples, including Dakota and Anishinaabe communities, whose seasonal movements, trade networks and knowledge of the Red River Valley shaped the landscape.
