Getting There

    If you are traveling by car within Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, start by heading towards the main park road, which is known as Fort Lincoln Road. Follow the signs leading you to the park exit. Once you exit the park, turn left onto Fort Lincoln Road and continue straight. After approximately 3 miles, merge onto ND-1804 N. Continue on ND-1804 N for about 4 miles. Then, take a left onto Burnt Boat Road. Chief Looking's Village will be located at 2023 Burnt Boat Rd, just a short drive from the turn.

    If you are using public transportation, you may need to first reach the nearest bus station in Bismarck. From Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, you can take a taxi or ride-share service to the Bismarck bus station. Once at the bus station, you can catch a bus heading towards the Burnt Boat area. Please check local schedules as they may vary. Upon arriving at the nearest stop to Burnt Boat Road, it's approximately a 10-minute walk to Chief Looking's Village, located at 2023 Burnt Boat Rd.
