From any location within Lake Metigoshe State Park, head south on ND-43 S. Continue on ND-43 S for approximately 9 miles until you reach Bottineau. Once in Bottineau, turn left onto 12th St NE, which will become ND-3 N. Follow ND-3 N for about 5 miles. The Turtle Mountain State Recreation Area will be on your left. Look for the park entrance signs.
