Getting There

  • Car

    From the Maah Daah Hey Trail, head south on the trail until you reach the end of the trail at ND-85. Turn left (east) onto ND-85 and drive for approximately 15 miles. You will pass through the scenic Badlands and prairie landscapes. Continue on ND-85 until you reach the town of Medora. In Medora, turn left onto 2nd Ave and continue for about 0.3 miles to reach the entrance to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, South Unit at 315 2nd Ave, Medora, ND 58645. The park entrance is clearly marked.

    If traveling by public transportation, start at the nearest bus stop along the Maah Daah Hey Trail. You will need to take a bus to Medora.
