Getting There

    If you are already within Theodore Roosevelt National Park, navigate to the South Unit of the park. From the Visitor Center located at 315 2nd Ave, Medora, ND 58645, head east on 2nd Ave toward 6th St. Turn right onto ND-16 and follow the signs for the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Continue on the scenic loop road for approximately 10 miles. Look for signs indicating Cottonwood Campground. The campground is located on the right side of the road, just past the junction with the Buck Hill Trail.

  • Bicycle

    For those who prefer cycling, you can start at the Medora Visitor Center located at 315 2nd Ave, Medora, ND. From there, take ND-16 heading towards the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The ride will take you approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on your speed.
