Walking
From the center of Mandan, head north on 1st Ave NW towards Main St. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Main St. Turn right onto Main St and walk for about 0.5 miles until you reach a bus stop at 6th St NW. Here, you can catch the #2 Metro Transit bus towards Bismarck. Stay on the bus for about 15 minutes, and get off at the stop near 612 E Boulevard Ave. From the bus stop, walk east for a short distance, and the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum will be on your left.

Bicycle
If you prefer biking, start from the Mandan Depot and head east on Memorial Highway. Follow the bike path along the highway for approximately 3 miles. You will reach a bike-friendly path that leads directly into Bismarck. Continue following the path, and as you approach 612 E Boulevard Ave, look for the museum signs. The North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum will be on your left. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow traffic rules.
