If you are driving from the Theodore Roosevelt National Park's South Unit Visitor Center, take Park Road 10 south towards Medora. Continue on Park Road 10 for about 5 miles until you reach the junction with Highway 10. Turn left onto Highway 10 and drive for approximately 2 miles into the town of Medora. Once in Medora, turn right onto 4th Street. The Harold Schafer Heritage Center will be on your left at 335 4th St, Medora, ND 58645. There is free parking available near the center.

Currently, there are limited public transportation options available directly from Theodore Roosevelt National Park to Medora. However, visitors may take a shuttle or bus service located at the South Unit Visitor Center during peak seasons. Check local schedules for availability. If you manage to secure a shuttle, request a drop-off at the Medora area. From the drop-off point, you can easily walk to the Harold Schafer Heritage Center, which is approximately a 10-minute walk straight down 4th Street.
