Getting There

  • Bicycle

    Starting from downtown Williston, head east on Main Street towards 2nd Avenue. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with ND-1804. Turn left onto ND-1804 and follow the road for approximately 10 miles. The Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site will be on your left, just past the confluence of the Yellowstone and Missouri Rivers.

    From the Williston City Hall, take the local bus service towards the Williston Airport. After about 20 minutes, get off at the stop near the airport. From there, you will need to walk approximately 2.5 miles east along the road to reach ND-1804, then turn left and follow the road for about 5 miles until you see the signs for the Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site.

    If you choose to walk, starting from downtown Williston, head east on Main Street until you reach 2nd Avenue. Turn left on 2nd Avenue and continue until you reach ND-1804.
