Starting from downtown Williston, head east on Main Street towards 2nd Avenue. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with ND-1804. Turn left onto ND-1804 and follow the road for approximately 10 miles. The Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site will be on your left, just past the confluence of the Yellowstone and Missouri Rivers.
