If you are traveling by car, start from Kristiansand, which is one of the major cities in Agder. Head north on E39 for approximately 30 kilometers. Take the exit toward Fv457, then merge onto Fv457. Continue on Fv457 for about 10 kilometers until you reach the junction with Fv257. Turn left onto Fv257 and drive for around 15 kilometers. You will see signs for Mollestadtree, which is located at Fv257 370, 4760 Birkeland. Parking is available at the site.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Kristiansand to Birkeland. Several buses run daily, and the journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Birkeland, you will need to take a local taxi to reach Mollestadtree, as public transport options may be limited in that area. The taxi ride is approximately 10 kilometers and should cost around 200-300 NOK.
Walking
If you are near Birkeland and prefer to walk, you can take a scenic walk to Mollestadtree. From the center of Birkeland, head north on Fv257. The distance is about 10 kilometers, and it should take approximately 2 hours on foot. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and be aware of traffic, as Fv257 is a functioning road.
Bicycle
Cyclists can also reach Mollestadtree by biking from Birkeland. The route is approximately 10 kilometers and is quite scenic. Follow Fv257, and ensure to wear a helmet and follow local cycling laws. The ride should take around 30-40 minutes. There is a bike rack available at Mollestadtree for secure parking.
