If you are driving from Kristiansand, take the E39 highway towards Søgne. Continue on E39 for about 15 km and take the exit towards Søgne (Route 456). Follow Route 456 for approximately 5 km, then turn left onto Ny-Hellesundveien. Follow this road until you reach the coastal fort area, which is located at the end of the road. There is usually parking available nearby.

From Kristiansand, take bus line 31 towards Søgne. The bus ride takes around 30 minutes. Disembark at the 'Søgne sentrum' stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 2 km to Ny-Hellesund coastal fort. Follow the signs towards Ny-Hellesund, or you can use a maps application for real-time walking directions. Be prepared for a bit of a hike, as the fort is situated at the coast and may require some elevation changes.

For the more adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Kristiansand. Take the same route as mentioned for cars, cycling along the E39 and Route 456. It's about 20 km from Kristiansand to Ny-Hellesund.
