Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, head towards the center of Oslo. The museum is located within Akershus Fortress. From the E18 highway, take the exit towards 'Oslo Sentrum'. Follow signs for 'Akershus Festning' which will lead you directly to the fortress entrance. Parking is limited, so it is advisable to park in nearby parking garages such as 'Aker Brygge' or 'P-Hus' and walk to the museum.

• Public Transportation

  To reach the museum using public transportation, take the T-bane (subway) to the 'Nationaltheatret' station. From there, you can either walk approximately 15 minutes to Akershus Fortress or catch bus number 54 from the bus stop outside the station towards 'Nobel Peace Center' and get off at 'Akershus Festning'. Follow the signs to the museum once you enter the fortress.

• Walking

  If you are in the vicinity of Akershus or Oslo city center, you can easily walk to the museum. The museum is located at Akershus festning, Bygning 62, 0015 Oslo. Look for signs leading to Akershus Fortress, and once inside, follow the signs to the museum which is located in Building 62.

• Taxi/Ride-sharing

  Using a taxi or a ride-sharing service like Uber is a convenient option. Simply provide the driver with the destination: 'Akershus festning, Bygning 62, 0015 Oslo'. This is a direct route, and the drivers are familiar with the location.
