Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the city center of Bergen, start at Torgallmenningen, the main square. Head towards the harbor, following the signs for Bryggen. You will walk past the Fish Market (Fisketorget). Once you reach the harbor, walk along the waterfront, and you will see the iconic wooden buildings of Bryggen directly ahead. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk from the square to Bryggen.

  • Bus

    From the Bergen Bus Station, which is located in the city center, take bus number 3 towards Bryggen. The bus ride takes about 10 minutes. Get off at the 'Bryggen' bus stop, which is very close to the entrance of the Bryggen area. Follow the signs to the wooden buildings once you disembark.

  • Light Rail

    If you are near the Byparken area, you can take the light rail line 'Bybanen' towards Lagunen Storsenter. Get off at the 'Bergen stasjon' stop. From there, it is a 10-minute walk to Bryggen. Head towards the harbor, passing the Fish Market, and follow the waterfront until you reach Bryggen.

  • Taxi

    You can hail a taxi from any location in Bergen. Simply tell the driver to take you to Bryggen, and they will know the way. The ride from the city center should take about 5-10 minutes depending on traffic.
