Getting There

Bus

From the city center of Bergen, walk to the Bergen Bus Station (Busstasjon) located just north of the central train station. You can reach it in about 10 minutes on foot. Once at the bus station, look for bus number 925 heading towards Øystese. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Make sure to check the schedule ahead of time as buses may not run frequently. After arriving at Øystese, disembark at the bus stop closest to The Goldfish Lake, which is known locally as 'Gullfiskesjøen'. From the bus stop, you will see signs directing you to the lake, which is a short 5-minute walk.
Ferry and Bus

Begin your journey at the Bergen harbor (Bryggen). Take a ferry from the harbor to the island of Askøy. The ferry ride lasts about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Askøy, you will need to transfer to bus number 925 that heads towards Øystese. This bus will take around 1 hour to reach Øystese. Upon arrival at the Øystese bus stop, follow the signs to The Goldfish Lake, which is a 5-minute walk from the bus stop.
Walking

If you are feeling adventurous and want to explore the scenic routes, you can walk from Bergen to Øystese, but be prepared for a long trek of approximately 30 kilometers. Start your journey by heading east out of the city center, following the signs towards the mountain trails. It will take several hours, so ensure you have proper hiking gear and some snacks. Once you reach Øystese, look for signs that will guide you to The Goldfish Lake, which is a short walk from the town center.
