If you are in the city center of Bergen (for example, near Torgallmenningen), head towards the fish market (Fisketorget). From there, walk along the waterfront promenade towards the Nordnes peninsula. You will pass by the Bryggen Wharf on your left. As you walk, keep the harbor on your right. Continue walking until you reach a fork in the path, where you will see signs directing you to Nordnes. Follow the signs uphill and you will arrive at Fredriksberg festning after about a 15-minute walk.
Public Transport - Bus
From the city center, you can take bus line 3 towards Nesttun. Board the bus at the nearest bus stop (for example, at 'Byparken'). After approximately 10 minutes, get off at the 'Nordnes' stop. Once you exit the bus, walk straight ahead and follow the signs leading to Fredriksberg festning. It is a short 5-minute walk from the bus stop to the fortress.
Public Transport - Light Rail
You can take the Bybanen (light rail) from the city center, boarding at 'Bergen stasjon'. Take the line towards Lagunen and get off at the 'Nygård' station. From there, walk towards the waterfront and follow the signs to Nordnes. It will take about 15-20 minutes to reach Fredriksberg festning from the station.
