From Bodø city center, walk to the nearest bus stop named 'Bodø Rutebilstasjon' (Bodø Bus Station). You can find it at Storgata 1, which is about a 5-minute walk from the main square. Once at the bus station, look for the bus line that goes to Saltstraumen. The bus number you need is 20 or the relevant line to Saltstraumen. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Saltstraumen' bus stop. Once you disembark, you will need to walk approximately 10 minutes towards the coast, following the signs to Saltstraumen. You will be able to see and hear the whirlpool from the area.
