Car
If you're starting in Oslo, drive northeast on the E6 highway. Follow the E6 for approximately 45 km. Take exit 25 towards Nittedal/Rv4 and merge onto Rv4. Continue on Rv4 for about 20 km until you reach the town of Nittedal. From Nittedal, follow signs towards Øyungen, which is near the Øyungen Lake. There are parking areas available near the lake for visitors.
Public Transportation
To reach Øyungen using public transport, take the metro line 1 (Frognerseteren) from Oslo central station to the end station at Frognerseteren. From Frognerseteren, you can take bus 41 towards Nittedal. Get off at the stop Øyungen, which is near the lake. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time, as services may be limited on weekends and holidays.
Hiking/Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and want to enjoy the scenery, you can hike to Øyungen from the nearest public transport stop. From the bus stop Øyungen, follow the marked hiking trails that lead directly to the lake. The walk is approximately 2 km and takes about 30-45 minutes depending on your pace. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and bring water.
