Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Hamar, the capital of Hedmark. Take the E6 highway heading north. Continue on the E6 for approximately 120 km until you reach the junction for the Rv27. Take the exit onto Rv27 towards Folldal. Follow Rv27 for about 30 km, and you will arrive at the entrance of Rondane National Park. Make sure to check for parking areas near the various hiking starting points, and note that parking fees may apply.
Public Transportation - Train and Bus
Begin your journey from Hamar Station, taking a train on the Dovre Line to Otta Station. The train journey typically takes around 2 hours. Once you arrive at Otta, transfer to a local bus heading towards Folldal or Rondane National Park. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary. Be aware that tickets for the train and bus will incur additional costs.
Public Transportation - Bus Only
If you prefer bus travel only, you can take a direct bus from Hamar to Otta. Check the schedules for departure times as they can vary. From Otta, you will need to change to a bus that goes to Rondane National Park. The total travel time may take around 3-4 hours, depending on connections. Make sure to purchase tickets for both bus rides, as they will have separate fares.
