Car
If you are traveling by car, start by heading towards Stranda in Møre og Romsdal. From the center of Stranda, follow the signs for Fv63 towards Geiranger. After approximately 10 kilometers, you will see signs for Ørnesvingen Viewpoint. Turn off Fv63 onto the viewpoint road, which is well-marked. Please note that there is a small parking area at the viewpoint where you can leave your car.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach Ørnesvingen Viewpoint using public transportation, take a bus from Ålesund or Molde to Stranda. The bus service is operated by Nettbuss, and you can check their schedule online. Once you arrive at Stranda, you may need to take a local taxi to reach Ørnesvingen Viewpoint, as the viewpoint is not directly accessible by public transport. Taxis are available at the bus station, and the ride to the viewpoint will take approximately 10-15 minutes, costing around 200-300 NOK.
Hiking
For the adventurous, a hiking option exists. From the center of Stranda, you can hike to Ørnesvingen Viewpoint. This hike is about 5 kilometers (one way) and is moderately challenging, taking roughly 1.5 to 2 hours. Follow local trail signs from Stranda to the viewpoint, and ensure you have adequate hiking gear. The viewpoint offers stunning views of the Geirangerfjord and surrounding mountains.
